The Problem With Large Scale Change
Paying attention to how our actions affect our environment has exploded onto the forefront of our lives lately. While this is fantastic, in that we are now moving in the right direction to change our detrimental habits and fix our planet, it does present a problem in itself. I suppose it could be called paralysis of choices, or simply information overload.
It has become clear to millions worldwide that we need to make urgent changes to our lifestyle and rethink the choices we are making. Herein lays an important issue. We are often so bogged down by the sheer weight of the situation, and the volume of changes and choices we can make, that we are paralyzed from taking any action at all.
Reducing our impact on the planet extends to every little nook and cranny of our existence, so how could we possible figure out where to start? Not to mention that in today’s mile-a-minute lifestyle, when exactly are we going to have the time to sit down and sort this all out?
While this sounds like a downright glum scenario, it’s not quite as hopeless as it may seem. For starters, the growing awareness of these issues is making solutions and changes easier and more commonplace. But even better still, I am dedicating this site to doing the figuring out for you.
It is massively time consuming for each individual or family to figure their best course of action for lessening their environmental impact. So why not have one person do the legwork and provide easy, straightforward solutions in one place? That is my vision for FixOurPlanet.org.
I will use this site to direct your attention to one specific change at a time. You can skip the narrowing down and deciding phase and just get onto making straightforward changes that make a difference.
Simply click over to this site (or join the RSS feed) to see which simple changes you can make in your life right now. Every change makes a difference, and over time you’ll be converting your lifestyle to a greener way of living, in I think one if the easiest, low stress ways possible.
